IF YOU ARE SUBMITTING A DIVER, YOU SHOULD SEND THE PROOF OF PERFORMANCE DIVE SHEET TO THE GHSA STATE OFFICE IN THOMASTON, GEORGIA. SPECIFIC DIVING RULES CAN BE FOUND UNDER THE DIVING TAB.

If you are no longer a swim coach, please reply to this message so that I can remove you from our list. If you have changed schools, but have the same email address as last year, please tell me your new school.

Again this year, all qualifiers for the state swim meet will be submitted online. We have redesigned the system to reduce the number of errors and to simplify the procedure. We have eliminated the use of a unique Username. You will now login using your email address. We also had to change passwords when we moved the information to our new server. If you need your password, please contact me.

To use the new qualifying system, you need to use Internet Explorer as your browser. We are trying to solve the issues with Netscape Navigator. Here are your instructions for entering a swimmer as a state qualifier:

1. Start at the GHSSCA.com web site. Click the 'Proof' link and then click 'Proof' again. You are now at the login page. Enter your email address and password.

2. After logging in, you are taken to the Coaches Control Panel. This Control Panel is used by coaches from many different sports to do many different things. Some of the functions will not apply to you. If you coach another sport, that sport should be listed in the first menu, along with swimming. Click swimming in the Sport column to enter your qualifiers. Ignore the Team column.

3. The 'Edit Functions' column has several different functions for you to use. You can use 'Edit Team Schedule' to enter your team schedule for the upcoming season. I hope you will take a few minutes to enter your schedule. Click the Help button at the top for instructions. After you enter your schedule, you may use ''Report Team Scores' to enter your meet results. To submit qualifiers, select 'Swimming-State Qualifiers'.

4. After selecting 'Swimming-State Qualifiers', the bottom half of the page will list all the athletes you previously submitted. Your first time in the system, the columns are obviously blank. To add a state qualifier, click the 'Add' button at the bottom. You are taken to the Edit page.

5. On the Edit page, in the first row, use the pull-down menu to indicate who you are submitting, a Boys Relay team, a Girls Relay team, a New Swimmer, or a previously entered swimmer. If you select Boys Relay, Girls Relay, or a Previous Qualifier, wait for the screen to refresh. The system will automatically fill in some of the boxes based on your selection.

8. Enter the qualifying time. Please format the time correctly. Minutes should be followed by a colon; seconds should be followed by a period. You do not have to put a '0' or a colon for times under 1 minute. The system will not accept incorrectly formatted times. The system also checks to make sure the submitted time is below or equal to the state qualifying time, but above a reasonable time for the event.

9. On the Event Dt row, click the button at the end of the row. This displays a calendar that allows you to click on the date the athlete or team performed the qualifying time. Per the GHSA you have 7 days to submit a qualifying time. The system will not accept times more than 7 days old. After 7 days, you must go through the GHSA office for approval to submit times.

11. Double check your data, then click the 'Update' button at the bottom. You should be taken back to the Swimming-State Qualifiers page and the performance just entered should now be on the list for your school.

12. If an individual or relay team improves their time, click the word Edit in the far left column on the Swimming-State Qualifiers page. Then update the time, date and verifying coach on the Edit page.

13. If you enter a swimmer in the wrong event or need to delete an entry for any reason, click the word Edit on the Swimming-State Qualifiers page, then click the Delete button at the bottom of the page.

The list of State Qualifiers will be available on GaSports.com beginning on or about November 22nd. You will use your email address and the same password to login on that site.
